Funding Sources for Surgery Lab Residents

A lot of these awards require you to apply almost a full year before you actually start in the lab and if you are choosing your lab in the half year before you are supposed to be doing research, it is going to be difficult to find any funding on such a short notice. It cannot be reinforced enough to the residents that they need to make choices earlier.
